IBEJU LEKKI 2 CC LOST THEIR PROMOTION CHANCE
LAGOS ASIAN CC Vs IBEJU LEKKI 2
Ibeju Lekki 2 won the toss and put LACC in to bat. The first 10 overs were very bad for Ibeju lekki 2 as LACC accelerated to 70 runs in 10 overs for the loss of no wicket. Idris Lumous (8 overs for 26 runs and 3 wickets) and Behani Varun (8 over for 34 runs and 3 wickets) were the pick of ILCC 2 bowling as they both brought the run rate down and picked up wickets restricting LACC to 219 (all out). The leading runs scorer for Division 2 Ghosalkar Jay scored 37 runs from 57 balls and was partnered by Sheikh Asim (28 runs from 50 balls), the pair put up a partnership of 85 runs in 12 overs. Their effort was consolidated on by the Skipper of LACC, Sharma Ricky who scored 30 runs from 50 balls.
In their reply, ILCC 2 lost the wickets of ILCC 2 Skipper Otegbeye Jide and Adeboro Seun early. Needing a strong partnership to pull them back in the game. Adesanya Rotimi (48 runs from 60 balls) and Behani Varun (23 runs from 31 balls) provided just that but sadly for ILCC2, they were both dismissed in quick succession. Ibeju Lekki 2 were all out for 154 runs in 32 overs. Srimivas.S (3 overs for 18 runs and 4 wickets) and Mathais.D (8 overs for 40 runs and 2 wickets) were the pick of LACC bowling. The victory gives LACC an unassailable lead in Division 2 and hence they gain promotion back to CCC Division 1.
